"At Famous Alabama Kitchen, community is central to what we do—from paying for groceries for families in need during the holidays to partnering with Liberated Land Cooperative for fresh, locally grown produce at our events. In 2026, we plan to attempt a world record for the longest individual cooking marathon, using that platform to feed as many people and families as possible at no cost to them."

"Collab has helped us facilitate and navigate through the process of building our business," said Domingo Medina, founder of Peels & Wheels Composting (@pwcomposting). "They helped me better understand what I do and guarantee the impact I was trying to achieve. Their accelerator program empowered me to be the best at what I’m doing right now."
Through their bike-powered household food scraps pickup service, peels & Wheels has diverted nearly 1.2 million pounds of food waste from landfills and repurposed it into over 2,000 cubic yards of compost since their founding in September 2014! They work with neighborhoods in New Haven and adjacent towns to promote and facilitate solutions for the composting needs of residents, small businesses and schools and turn the collected compost into rich soil for growing healthy food in home & community gardens and urban farms.

2025 was quite a year! We reached many transformative milestones this year. Some highlights:
🔹 reSET acquired New Haven-based Collab, building increased connections between Hartford and New Haven's entrepreneurial ecosystems, and uniting in our approach of heart-centered support for growing businesses.
🔹 We worked closely with 117 entrepreneurs through our intentional, cohort-based programs, coaching and workshops. These founders are starting businesses that create social impact, joining over 500 entrepreneurs incubated since our programming started in 2013!
🔹 We made over $43,000 in grants and prize money available to graduates of our accelerator and incubator programs.
🔹 63 hours were contributed by 44 amazing volunteers — thank you!
🔹 We expanded our offerings by launching two programs for idea-stage entrepreneurs, bringing our total of multi-week cohort-based programs to 6.
🔹 Over 70% of our entrepreneurs represent woman-owned and/or BIPOC-owned businesses, both traditionally under-represented groups in entrepreneurship.

"As a psychology-trained professor with no formal background in business, launching a publishing house was both exciting and daunting. reSET became the bridge between my passion and my potential," says Melissa-Sue John, Ph.D., founder of Lauren Simone Publishing House (@laurensimonepubs).
Dr. John created Lauren Simone Publishing House in honor of her daughters, and because she wanted to see more diverse, inclusive children's books on the market, especially those published by young authors. In 2022, she grew her business through our Impact Accelerator program. "Through reSET's guidance, I learned how to confidently pitch my business—whether in front of an audience, during an elevator moment, or while sharing the heart of my story," says Dr. John. "They pushed me to think not just about my community impact, but also about my responsibility to the planet. Because of reSET, I shifted from printing hundreds of copies to a more sustainable print-on-demand model. "reSET + Collab has been transformative for me as an entrepreneur," says chef Damone Johnson (@chefdamonejohnson). reSET to Host Beyond Business As Usual 2026: Scaling Resilient Entrepreneurship One-Day Summit Brings Together Connecticut Entrepreneurs, Policymakers, and Innovation Leaders During National Small Business Week
Dear reSET Community, The Board of Directors today announces the departure of Sarah Bodley as Executive Director of reSET in a planned transition later this year. The Board has immense gratitude for Sarah and all her contributions over the years. Over the last seven years, Sarah has built an amazing foundation for the organization and she leaves reSET in a strong position for continued growth and service. Sarah joined reSET in 2018 and over the past seven years has solidified and expanded reSET’s mission of supporting impact-driven entrepreneurs throughout Connecticut. Here are a few key highlights from Sarah’s time here: Facilitated the acquisition of Collab New Haven, expanding reSET’s footprint to a statewide geography and further enhancing our mission Developed and implemented new core programs including the award-winning Food Incubator, as well as the Food Accelerator, Retail Incubator, Measure What Matters, and Digital Marketing Mastermind Established reSET as a founding partner of the Hartford Culinary Collaborative, enabling greater connectivity and cooperation among food-centric support organizations in our region Doubled the organization’s budget to over 1 Million Dollars, securing multi-year State government grants Won the prestigious Neighborhood Builders Award from Bank of America, and the Leadership Greater Hartford Polaris Community Award in 2022 Established an endowment fund thanks to support from the Zachs Family Foundation to support the long term sustainability of reSET’s mission Over the coming months, we will be continuing our search to find reSET's next Executive Director. Sarah will stay onboard through June to ensure a smooth handoff to our next leader, and will be available as a resource throughout 2026. It is the Board of Directors’ priority, along with Sarah's, to make this transition as smooth as possible to continue the great work Sarah has helped us do over her tenure.
