Less Than A Year After Helping Pass Connecticut’s Benefit Corporation Legislation, reSET Doubles Space

—reSET Business Factory now open for entrepreneurs, professionals, and artists—

Hartford, Conn. – Less than a year after helping pass Connecticut’s benefit corporation legislation, reSET, The Social Enterprise Trust (www.SocialEnterpriseTrust.org) has doubled its space and moved to 1429 Park Street. In addition to housing the nonprofit’s headquarters, the space is home to the brand new reSET Business Factory, which will ultimately feature 9,575 sq. ft. of coworking and program space, conference rooms, and private offices. Entrepreneurs, artists, and professionals based in or passing through the greater Hartford area can stop in for the day or become reSET members at various levels of benefit.

reSET offers supportive programs and services, including mentoring, advisory support, and funding for enterprises looking to launch and scale. reSET also provides social enterprise start-ups with an annual opportunity to compete for unrestricted seed capital through its Impact Challenge (www.TheImpactChallenge.org). The 5th Impact Awards will take place on October 29, 2015.

“Phase one of construction is complete, and the building’s free parking and adjacent CTfastrak station (Parkville) seem to be bringing in traffic,” said Ojala Naeem, director of operations for reSET. “Private offices, including lofts, are currently being fitted out and are slated for occupancy in July. We’re encouraging anyone that’s interested in leasing to inquire as soon as possible.”

“Our members were asking for additional services and amenities, and thanks to the ongoing support of our partners, we’ve been able to realize that at our new Park St. location,” said Kate Emery, founder and CEO of reSET. “Additional plans call for a media lab to serve entrepreneurs’ marketing needs, and a café that will be open to both members and the public.”

reSET’s work is made possible through the support of partners, including Founding Partner The Walker Group, the MetroHartford Alliance, Connecticut Innovations, the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development, The Hartford, Murtha Cullina LLP, and many other key supporters.

About reSET

reSET is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance the social enterprise sector. Its strategic goals are threefold: to be the “go-to” place for impact entrepreneurs, to make Hartford known as Impact City, and Connecticut the Social Enterprise state.

reSET serves all entrepreneurs, but specializes in social enterprise ― impact driven business with a double or triple bottom line. In addition to providing coworking space, accelerator and mentoring programs, reSET aims to inspire innovation and community collaboration, and to support entrepreneurs in creating market-based solutions to community challenges. reSET’s goal is to meet entrepreneurs wherever they are in their trajectory and to help them take their businesses to the next level. www.SocialEnterpriseTrust.org
