One Last Thing…

As our crowdfunding campaign winds down, I wanted to take some time and reflect on my experience here at reSET, and why supporting the Social Enterprise Investment Fund is vital to the growth of Connecticut’s burgeoning social enterprise sector. I joined reSET after reaching out to our CEO Kate Emery, looking for a way to help out however I could. I understood the potential that social enterprise had for making a positive impact in our communities, and wanted to work for an organization that was going to make a difference. I was an intern then, and we were researching ways that reSET could support social entrepreneurs in our state, create jobs, and solve community problems.

Fast-forward to today – reSET’s potential is being realized. We now operate an incubator space in downtown Hartford, an accelerator program that helps social entrepreneurs develop effective, scalable businesses, and a number of innovative programs – like our “Social Enterprise Design Lab” series. It’s been a fun, exciting ride to be part of an organization that is growing so fast, and to watch the entrepreneurs we’ve come in contact with grow and develop their businesses.

We’ve still got a lot of work ahead of us, however. To realize our full potential, and truly help grow and scale the social enterprise sector in Connecticut, we recognize the need to provide social entrepreneurs with start-up capital to get their businesses off the ground, and make an impact. That’s where you come in.

There are less than 36 hours left before the end of reSET’s crowdfunding campaign to support our Social Enterprise Investment Fund – an evergreen loan fund that provides start-up capital to Connecticut’s social entrepreneurs. The campaign has already generated over $8,780 from 34 different supporters! I personally contributed to the SEIF because I believe in the social entrepreneurs we interact with every day, and their ability to create new jobs and develop innovative solutions to social problems. If you are on our e-mail list, I know you feel the same way, and hope you will contribute to our crowdfunding campaign, and help spread the word about our efforts to raise funding for the SEIF.

This is the last big push, and we’re calling all hands on deck. No donation is too small, and no voice is too loud. Even if you have only $10.00 to give, know that you are joining us in a big way by spreading the message, and becoming part of the social enterprise movement. By contributing to our www.startsomegood.com/seif campaign you are investing in the future of businesses that combine purpose and profit for the greater good of our communities.

If you have any questions about our crowdfunding campaign, or the Social Enterprise Investment Fund in general, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me right up until the end of our campaign on Saturday night at 11:59 PM. – JWoulfe@SocialEnterpriseTrust.org

Thanks so much for your help, and continued support.
