National Early-Stage Ecosystems Report Features Hartford

ewalsh • October 23, 2018

We’re so grateful that Startup Genome was able to include Hartford in its recent analysis of early-stage ecosystems, thanks to support from the Kauffman Foundation. Our great city is too often overlooked, and with local and state funding being what they are, national attention on all of the amazing businesses making an impact here is more important than ever.

Among the new report’s findings was the fact that we have more female founders than other U.S. hub. “In Hartford, for example, nearly four in 10 founders are women, which is twice the global average across all ecosystems in our database.”

Big shoutout to the other local partners who also helped compile this important data: MetroHartford Alliance/Innovation Destination Hartford, CTNext, UConn, Wesleyan University, Upward Hartford, Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, the West Hartford Chamber, any many others individuals.
