S.B. 23 Takes Another Step

ewalsh • March 11, 2014

This morning, S.B. 23 took an important step forward in the legislative process, by being voted out of the Commerce Committee. The bill was voted out of the Committee after receiving a “Joint Favorable Substitute,” which means the Committee approved the bill, but with different language than what was originally proposed. In this case, the changes made to the bill were very minimal, technical changes, which do not affect any of the bill’s substantive measures.

All of us at reSET appreciate the outpouring of support, e-mails, and phone calls we’ve received, we know you are excited and we are too! So, what’s next? The bill will now be referred to the Judiciary Committee.

In other news, Doug Hardy, Co-owner and Founder of CTNewsJunkie.com, as well as the Independent Media Network, wrote a very powerful op-ed about why he believes Benefit Corporation legislation should be passed here in Connecticut. You can read his op-ed here.
