CTP 052: Hardy Says Benefit Corporations Could Boost Sagging News Outlets

Journalist and website business manager Doug Hardy is urging the Connecticut General Assembly to legalize Benefit Corporations. Passage of Senate Bill 23 would do just that. Hardy said on CTTalking Podcast that S.B. 23 could help boost the traditional news industry, which is sagging from so much competition these days.

Hardy, who wrote for the Journal Inquirer of Manchester and is now business manager of ctnewsjunkie.com, explains in the podcast and in an editorial piece on his website, what benefit corporations are all about and how they could be applied to various news gathering organizations to save them from the corporate-take-over-wrecking-ball.
