Like so many of the businesses that we support and our partner organizations, the end of a year is a time to reflect on all that was accomplished and to think about the work that lies ahead.
Here at reSET, most of 2017 was spent on implementing programmatic changes based on the SWOT analysis that we conducted during the previous year. As we have zeroed in on our accelerator, internship and mentor offerings, I think we have been working a lot smarter and I look forward to releasing annual report metrics which support that soon.
In the meantime though, I’d like to share a few highlights of our work last year:
- We accepted the 2018 Impact Accelerator cohort based on our most competitive applicant pool yet, with applications from allover the world. (NEW: read more)
- We taught another intern cohort and paired them with promising startups in our network. We also launched our first Innovation Challenge in which the summer cohort was divided into three teams, each assigned with a real-world problem that we determined was not being adequately addressed. To date, we’ve graduated 29 interns that have contributed more than 5,000 project hours to 50 enterprises. (read more)
- We participated in Connecticut’s rigorous “Innovation Places” application process, and consequently, the establishment of the Hartford/East Hartford innovation hub. Over the course of next five years, Innovation Places will distribute $30 million to the four areas that have been designated magnets for talent, including Hartford. The funding is intended to go to catalytic projects that support their local innovation ecosystems. (read more)
Stay healthy, warm and safe over the next few days and we look forward to reconnecting with you and your colleagues in the New Year!
