Why You Should Consider Interning at a Socially Impactful Startup!

reSET Communications • December 30, 2015

Internships are in! In today’s competitive job market the right internship can give you and your resume the extra edge it needs to help you land the job of your dreams. Employers are looking at what skills and experience you bring to the table, and are searching for applicants who have been exposed to professional work environments. Finding those opportunities can be a daunting task, and so…

Without further ado, reSET is excited to announce the roll out our first Social Enterprise Internship Program, which in our humble opinion, is one of the coolest internship programs ever to exist!

reSET will be selecting a group of lucky interns to work alongside an innovative community of start-up entrepreneurs in the heart of downtown Hartford. Interns will have the unique opportunity work in a growing sector of business that has taken root in Connecticut known as, Social Enterprise and will work directly with the Social Entrepreneurs who are building and launching businesses. The Social Enterprise Internship program is designed to offer undergraduate students a “deep-dive” into what it takes to be an entrepreneur, and offers a one-of-a-kind hands on experience working in an impactful, fast paced start-up; start-ups that are actively using their business to create positive social and environmental impact in their communities.

How it works:

Interns will be paired with a start-up, and will also be required to engage on multiple levels with reSET, an organization that supports entrepreneurs, and drives the growth of the State’s Social Enterprise Sector.

What truly sets this program apart:

Working with a startup allows students the opportunity to use their creative license and unique expertise to contribute to the growth of a new business. It is not devoid of all opportunity for ingenuity, leadership, or critical thinking. It is, instead, an experience in building a business from the ground up… Picture that on your resume!

Hungry for a meaningful career?

Well, it doesn’t get much better then working at the forefront of a powerful sector of business that is redefining sustainable development!
