Founder of LOTUS Alliance will participate in “Leadership Boot Camp” with 15 American Express Ashoka Changemakers Emerging Innovators
HARTFORD, Conn.– reSET Social Enterprise Accelerator graduate Arati Sureddi, founder of Connecticut-based social enterprise LOTUS Alliance, has been selected to participate in the American Express Emerging Innovators’ Leadership Boot Camp, held in partnership with Ashoka Changemakers. Sureddi was one of 15 social entrepreneurs to be selected for this national award. American Express has described these emerging innovators as “most likely to become the next generation of leaders who will solve the world’s critical challenges.”
The Leadership Boot Camp aims to accelerate the ideas of tomorrow’s leaders in social entrepreneurship through training, mentorship, and collaboration to create long-term impact. The two-day workshop will be held alongside top Ashoka Fellows and American Express executives in New York City on June 4-6th.
“I’m excited about meeting the other emerging innovators who will be at the conference; I think LOTUS has the potential to evolve given the opportunity to learn from others who are addressing global social issues,” said Sureddi.
LOTUS Alliance addresses human trafficking and forced labor through socially responsible tourism, working globally to increase consumer awareness and ability to select travel providers that uphold fair labor and human rights practices throughout their supply chains. At the same time, LOTUS Alliance promotes and funds employment training for survivors of human trafficking and those at risk.
